Joanna Lumley new CM patron

The Dalai Lama Centre for
Compassion is delighted to announce that
Joanna Lumley OBE has lent her support to the organisation’s
educational outreach project Compassion Matters (www.compassion-matters.org)
by agreeing to be the project’s patron.

Compassion Matters, created by
the Dalai Lama Centre for Compassion, develops and shares learning resources
with schools and other education organisations. Through exploring ethics and philosophy, Compassion Matters equip children
to think critically about ethical issues, to impact their socio-emotional learning positively, to improve their academic
skills and to enhance their mental well-being. Above all, we support children
to see that compassion and its related values are key not only to a happier, more harmonious society but also to
individual flourishing.

Launched in September 2018, and supported by His Holiness
the Dalai Lama, Compassion Matter’s currently works with over 1000 children and
30 primary schools across the UK and rest of the world. Compassion Matters has developed classroom and online
resources that are both scalable and accessible to schools and teachers with
limited or no experience of teaching ethics. If your school or educational
organisation interested in the benefit of teaching ethics to students, please get in touch via [email protected].
